150-14 - 150.0mm² Terminal 14mm Hole

Copper Tube Lugs are designed to provide a strong, reliable, and professional method of cable termination. Crimped connections give a cleaner and more consistent result than soldered ends, ensuring mechanical strength and dependable electrical performance.
Available in sizes from 2.5mm² up to 400mm² with bell mouth entries for smooth cable insertion, including flexible conductors. For larger sizes of 500mm² and above, a straight entry design is used. Each lug is tin plated to BS 1872 Part 2, offering excellent corrosion resistance and suitability for continuous use at temperatures up to 200°C. For higher temperature applications, nickel-plated options are available, rated up to 343°C (contact our sales office for details).
Manufactured from seamless copper tube to BS EN 12449:1999 (formerly BS2871/C106), every lug includes an inspection hole to confirm correct conductor insertion before crimping. The bell mouth entry provides a smooth transition from lug to cable, also reducing the risk of chafing in vibration prone environments.
Ideal for industrial, commercial, and utility projects, these copper tube lugs ensure safe, efficient, and long-lasting terminations in both 600V and 1000V applications.

Questions & Answers

At the simplest level, a copper tube lugs are a connector made from high-conductivity copper. One end is a tube where you insert a stripped cable, and the other end is a flat palm (generally with a punched hole) that bolts onto a busbar, terminal block, or piece of equipment.

The purpose is straightforward: create a stable, low-resistance link between a cable and another component. But because electrical joints are often the weakest point in a circuit, the quality of the lug and the way it’s installed really matters.

Almost anywhere you need to terminate large cables securely:

  • Electrical distribution - connecting power cables to switchboards, transformers, and circuit breakers
  • Industrial machinery - securing motor leads and control gear
  • Automotive and marine - battery connections and heavy-duty wiring
  • Renewable energy systems - linking solar arrays, inverters, and storage batteries
  • In all these settings, the priorities are the same: safe current transfer, mechanical strength, and resistance to heat and corrosion.

Not all copper tube terminals are created equal. Choosing the right type depends on a few practical details:

  • Cable size and lug size - The lug must match the conductor size exactly to ensure a snug crimp. Undersized or oversized lugs compromise the connection.
  • Material quality - Look for lugs made from high-purity copper, often tin-plated to guard against oxidation and improve conductivity.
  • Palm design - Single-hole, two-hole, or offset hole types are available, depending on the mounting arrangement and space constraints.
  • Installation method – The right crimping tool is essential. A good-quality lug poorly crimped can fail faster than a cheaper one installed properly.
