The ArmaKit® BW Low Smoke Cable Gland is a trusted brass gland kit made for safe and tidy terminations of Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) PVC and Low Smoke (LS) cables. This two-part cable gland is specially designed for indoor installations where minimal dust or moisture is present, making it a practical choice for control panels, distribution boards and general building wiring.

Unlike weatherproof types, the BW gland has no inner seal and therefore does not provide high ingress protection. Instead, it focuses on secure mechanical clamping and reliable earth continuity by gripping the cable armour against a low-resistance knurled cone inside the body. This means the cable stays firmly held, and your earthing connection stays safe and consistent.

ArmaKit® BW glands come complete with a low smoke shroud, earth tag and locknut for a neat, compliant finish. Made from quality brass, they stand up to corrosion and mechanical stress while helping to reduce harmful smoke in a fire situation.

Single and double compression cable glands differ in their sealing and clamping mechanisms:

Single Compression Glands: These glands provide compression around the outer sheath of the cable, offering basic sealing and strain relief. They are suitable for indoor/outdoor applications where environmental conditions are controlled.

When installing Cable Glands using plain holes and locknuts, the recommended clearance of +0.2 mm above the nominal thread diameter. For example, an M20 gland should be mounted in a 20.2 mm diameter hole. The maximum recommended clearance is +0.7 mm. This ensures a secure fit while allowing easy installation.
