The POSI GRIP™ Gland is designed for use in highly corrosive and wet locations where a hazardous area certification is required. Designed for use on unarmoured elastomeric and plastic cables, design has two displacement seals, inner seal and harder outer seal that grips the cable, giving it superior cable retention and IP rating on the cable outer sheath. Superior ingress protection rated to IP66/IP68, delivering a watertight seal that blocks out dust, water and contaminants, even under pressure.
POSI GRIP™ gland features a high-performance brass body encapsulated with a non-corrosive polyester outer body offering complete protection in the most hostile of environments. 
Designed for maximum ingress protection, it delivers a flameproof, gas tight seal that is suitable for use in Gas Groups II and II , Zones 1, 2, 20, 21 and 22 hazardous areas.
Its compact design is perfect for installations where space is limited, while the body construction provides excellent corrosion resistance in demanding environments.

Single and double compression cable glands differ in their sealing and clamping mechanisms:

Single Compression Glands: These glands provide compression around the outer sheath of the cable, offering basic sealing and strain relief. They are suitable for indoor/outdoor applications where environmental conditions are controlled.

Double Compression Glands: These glands provide compression at both the outer sheath and the inner bedding layer of the cable. This dual compression offers enhanced sealing and strain relief, making them ideal for outdoor or hazardous environments where additional protection is required.

Yes - Specific types of cable glands are designed for use in hazardous area environments. These glands are constructed to prevent the ingress of flammable gases or dust and are often certified to standards such as ATEX or IECEx, ensuring safety in explosive atmospheres. When installing Cable Glands using plain holes and locknuts, the recommended clearance of +0.2 mm above the nominal thread diameter. For example, an M20 gland should be mounted in a 20.2 mm diameter hole. The maximum recommended clearance is +0.7 mm. This ensures a secure fit while allowing easy installation.
