The CCG Ex Corrosion Guard Gland Kit is a purpose-built flameproof gland for hazardous environments where corrosion protection and safety are critical. The Corrosion Guard® screws onto the Ex gland body and seals over the outer sheath of the cable giving an IP68 and deluge proof seal protecting the armour and metal parts of the gland.
Designed for maximum ingress protection, it delivers a flameproof, gas tight seal that is suitable for use in Gas Groups II and II , Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 hazardous areas. 
Each kit up to M32 includes two glands, two locknuts, two earth tags and Corrosion Guard Ex shrouds. M40 and larger come as single kits with locknut and shroud.
This gland includes CCG's patented disconnect system allows for inspection of armour clamp and inner seal after assembly, ensuring reliable earth continuity and mechanical retention of the cable. With CCG’s patented captive component system, the risk of incorrect assembly is reduced, improving site safety and installation reliability.
Manufactured from precision-machined extruded brass Marine Grade Electroless Nickel Plated™, the Ex Corrosion Guard is ideal for use in demanding hazardous areas environments where corrosion protection is critical.

Single and double compression cable glands differ in their sealing and clamping mechanisms:

Single Compression Glands: These glands provide compression around the outer sheath of the cable, offering basic sealing and strain relief. They are suitable for indoor/outdoor applications where environmental conditions are controlled.

Double Compression Glands: These glands provide compression at both the outer sheath and the inner bedding layer of the cable. This dual compression offers enhanced sealing and strain relief, making them ideal for outdoor or hazardous environments where additional protection is required.

Yes - Specific types of cable glands are designed for use in hazardous area environments. These glands are constructed to prevent the ingress of flammable gases or dust and are often certified to standards such as ATEX or IECEx, ensuring safety in explosive atmospheres. When installing Cable Glands using plain holes and locknuts, the recommended clearance of +0.2 mm above the nominal thread diameter. For example, an M20 gland should be mounted in a 20.2 mm diameter hole. The maximum recommended clearance is +0.7 mm. This ensures a secure fit while allowing easy installation.
