The CCG CW Cable Gland is built for safe, durable terminations of steel wire armoured (SWA) cables in outdoor or exposed environments. This heavy duty brass gland features two-piece handling, no loose parts, and a freely rotating captive cone providing an armour clamp and earth bond without twisting the armouring.

It delivers reliable mechanical retention while maintaining superior earth continuity between the cable armour and the gland body. Engineered to withstand harsh conditions, the CW gland is rated up to IP66 when installed with the supplied entry thread sealing washer, protecting against water, dust, and external elements.

The advanced design separates the armour clamping and sealing functions, preventing cable damage and simplifying installation. With a wide clamping range and standard metric threads, it fits a variety of cable sizes and entry types, ensuring a secure fit for industrial, marine, and commercial power applications.

Single and double compression cable glands differ in their sealing and clamping mechanisms:

Single Compression Glands: These glands provide compression around the outer sheath of the cable, offering basic sealing and strain relief. They are suitable for indoor/outdoor applications where environmental conditions are controlled.

Double Compression Glands: These glands provide compression at both the outer sheath and the inner bedding layer of the cable. This dual compression offers enhanced sealing and strain relief, making them ideal for outdoor or hazardous environments where additional protection is required.

Yes - Specific types of cable glands are designed for use in hazardous area environments. When installing Cable Glands using plain holes and locknuts, the recommended clearance of +0.2 mm above the nominal thread diameter. For example, an M20 gland should be mounted in a 20.2 mm diameter hole. The maximum recommended clearance is +0.7 mm. This ensures a secure fit while allowing easy installation.
