The CCG A2EX Low Smoke Gland Kit is a high-performance solution for terminating unarmoured elastomeric and plastic cables in Hazardous environments. Designed for maximum ingress protection, it delivers a flameproof, gas tight seal that is suitable for use in Gas Groups II and II , Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 hazardous areas.
The A2EX unique design has two displacement seals, inner seal and harder outer seal grips the cable, giving it superior cable retention and IP rating on the cable outer sheath. 
Each kit up to M32 includes two glands, two locknuts and two PVC Low Smoke shrouds. M40 and larger come as single kits with locknut and shroud.
Manufactured from precision-machined extruded brass, the A2EX gland ensures long-lasting durability and safety. The gland has an ingress protection of IP66/IP68 when installed with thread sealing washer provided, making it suitable for wet, dusty, and corrosive environments.
Commonly used in petrochemical, offshore, and industrial control systems, the CCG A2EX supports reliable cable entry into flameproof equipment.

Single and double compression cable glands differ in their sealing and clamping mechanisms:

Single Compression Glands: These glands provide compression around the outer sheath of the cable, offering basic sealing and strain relief. They are suitable for indoor/outdoor applications where environmental conditions are controlled.

Double Compression Glands: These glands provide compression at both the outer sheath and the inner bedding layer of the cable. This dual compression offers enhanced sealing and strain relief, making them ideal for outdoor or hazardous environments where additional protection is required.

Yes - Specific types of cable glands are designed for use in hazardous area environments. These glands are constructed to prevent the ingress of flammable gases or dust and are often certified to standards such as ATEX or IECEx, ensuring safety in explosive atmospheres. When installing Cable Glands using plain holes and locknuts, the recommended clearance of +0.2 mm above the nominal thread diameter. For example, an M20 gland should be mounted in a 20.2 mm diameter hole. The maximum recommended clearance is +0.7 mm. This ensures a secure fit while allowing easy installation.
