ALN5 - M50 Aluminium Lock Nut

Aluminium Locknuts are specifically designed to ensure safe and secure installation of aluminium cable glands while preventing galvanic corrosion that can occur when dissimilar metals are coupled together. Manufactured from high quality Aluminium 6082 HE30, these locknuts provide excellent mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and long term durability in industrial environments.
Recommended for use in conjunction with aluminium cable glands, they help maintain system integrity while protecting equipment from electrochemical reactions that may compromise performance. With a wide operating temperature range from -60°C to +130°C, they are suitable for a variety of demanding applications including power distribution, control panels and hazardous area enclosures.
Available in the full ISO Metric range from M16 to M75, Aluminium Locknuts offer a professional, reliable solution for safe gland installation and long lasting protection.

Questions & Answers

Single and double compression cable glands differ in their sealing and clamping mechanisms:

Single Compression Glands: These glands provide compression around the outer sheath of the cable, offering basic sealing and strain relief. They are suitable for indoor/outdoor applications where environmental conditions are controlled.

Double Compression Glands: These glands provide compression at both the outer sheath and the inner bedding layer of the cable. This dual compression offers enhanced sealing and strain relief, making them ideal for outdoor or hazardous environments where additional protection is required.

Yes - Specific types of cable glands are designed for use in hazardous area environments. These glands are constructed to prevent the ingress of flammable gases or dust and are often certified to standards such as ATEX or IECEx, ensuring safety in explosive atmospheres. See CCG Hazardous Area Glands for our full range.

When installing Cable Glands using plain holes and locknuts, the recommended clearance of +0.2 mm above the nominal thread diameter. For example, an M20 gland should be mounted in a 20.2 mm diameter hole. The maximum recommended clearance is +0.7 mm. This ensures a secure fit while allowing easy installation.
