Hydraulic Crimping Head c/w Case and Dies 10-630mm²

The TorqTek HCH-630 is a high-performance hydraulic head engineered for heavy-duty compression of copper tube terminals from 16 to 630mm². Designed for seamless integration with hydraulic foot pumps or battery operated pumps, this robust tool is manufactured from high-strength forged alloy steel to withstand industrial demands.
It delivers a formidable 142kN crimping force with a 50mm stroke, providing the necessary power for large-scale cable terminations with absolute precision.

The HCH-630 is supplied as a comprehensive kit within a sturdy metal carrying case. It includes an interchangeable die holder for sizes 16 to 400mm², while the 500mm² and 630mm² dies are designed for independent use, removing the requirement for a separate holder. Combining extreme durability with a versatile capacity, the HCH-630 stands as the premier solution for high-capacity electrical infrastructure projects.

Questions & Answers

If you are doing hundreds of cuts a day, a dedicated cutting tool is faster and the blades last longer because they are optimized for that one job. However, for most site techs, a combi-tool that takes interchangeable heads is much more cost-effective. It saves space in the van and gives you the ability to punch holes or crimp large lugs without buying three separate expensive power units.

No, you can't. While some dies might look similar, aluminium requires a different compression profile and usually a larger die size for the same cross-sectional area of conductor. Using a copper die on an aluminium lug can lead to under-compression, which causes the joint to overheat and eventually fail under load. Always check the stamp on the lug and match it to the die.

Modern battery tools have a manual retract button. If the battery dies mid way or the tool jams, don't try to pry the head open. Use the manual retract button to bleed the pressure safely. You'll need to redo that crimp though, because a partial compression won't have the mechanical or electrical integrity required for a safe connection.
